Tangerang, 5 October 2026 – IKEA Indonesia has launched its latest gaming collection, YXSTABY, in Indonesia. The collection, a collaboration between IKEA designers and Xbox, arrives in Indonesia featuring six furniture pieces and accessories. It is designed by observing various scenarios of people gaming at home—from TV positioning and seating postures to keeping essentials within arm's reach. When gameplay is over, the same furniture seamlessly serves other activities in the same space.

“When gaming at home, especially in Indonesia, we don’t always have a dedicated gaming room. Particularly with console gaming, we usually play in the bedroom or living room—the very same spaces used for watching TV, lounging, or gathering. So, IKEA and Xbox looked at what truly happens while people play. These insights became a core part of IKEA’s process when developing YXSTABY. It aligns with how IKEA views life at home: understanding how people live and discovering what can make everyday life better for the many people,” said Angela Krisyanti, Business Leader IKEA Indonesia.

YXSTABY marks the latest chapter in IKEA's journey within the gaming category. In 2021, IKEA first ventured into the category with a collaboration spanning six series: UPPSPEL, LÅNESPELARE, MATCHSPEL, GRUPPSPEL, UTESPELARE, and HUVUDSPELARE. Over 30 products were introduced in that lineup, ranging from gaming desks and chairs to various accessories supporting PC gaming setups.

Following that, BRÄNNBOLL expanded this exploration into a more diverse range of furnishings, such as inflatable chairs, armchairs, trolleys, and other pieces designed for transitioning from gaming to other daily activities at home. With YXSTABY, IKEA focuses even closer on what happens during actual gameplay. TV angles, seating postures, keeping items nearby, and the flexibility to easily move furniture were all key considerations in product development.

The collaboration between IKEA designers and Xbox is directly evident across the product range. Designers from both teams worked together to develop this collection, combining IKEA’s expertise in home furnishing with Xbox’s deep understanding of gaming culture. The result is a versatile selection of products.

Examples include the TV stand on castors, which can be effortlessly rolled along with the television when viewing angles from the sofa change. Its rear section features shelving, hooks, and cable management to keep equipment organized when moving the stand. The gaming lounge chair is designed for multiple sitting postures, from upright to reclined, and includes side pockets to keep controllers close at hand. Meanwhile, the side table on castors provides storage, controller charging capabilities, and moves flexibly to match the user's position.

The collection also features the Thumbstick Gaming Stool, D-pad Gaming Cushion, and Gaming Controller Display Box, taking inspiration from shapes familiar to gamers. The Thumbstick Stool and D-pad Cushion adapt iconic controller elements into functional seating and ergonomic arm and back support. Meanwhile, the Gaming Controller Display Box lets players proudly showcase controllers that are usually hidden away after use, complete with an internal mirror and a detachable transparent stand. All three blend seamlessly into the home, even when not in play.

“Ultimately, the living space used for gaming is also shared with family members or utilized for other activities once the game ends. Therefore, I believe gaming furniture doesn't always have to look or feel overly ‘gamer’. What matters most is that when playing, the furniture truly supports the activity. From an interior perspective, we strive for balance. Some elements can carry bolder character, while others remain subtle and harmonize with existing furniture. This allows people to bring a touch of gaming character into their home without having to overhaul the entire room,” said Muhammad Yusuf Attorik, Interior Design Leader IKEA Indonesia.

The three IKEA designers who contributed to YXSTABY have previously designed many recognizable IKEA products. David Wahl, for example, designed the TEODORES dining chair, ÖDLEBLAD pendant lamp, and VECKLARFLY curtains. Lukas Bazle created the KÖLVATTEN sensor LED lamp, KUDDLAVA pendant lamp, and KRÖNIKÖR open shelving unit. Meanwhile, Darja Nordberg has designed numerous textile products, including the SLÅNHÖSTMAL duvet cover and pillowcase, as well as the SKOGSSALLAT series of slippers and eye masks.

YXSTABY is now available at IKEA Indonesia stores and ikea.co.id, with prices starting from IDR 149,000. For more information regarding products, availability, and stock at each store, please visit ikea.co.id or visit your nearest IKEA store.
