Tangerang, July 28, 2026 – Life constantly changes over time. There are additional family members, new routines formed, to new hobbies that constantly emerge. These changes make the home serve more functions than before. However, as life continues to develop, the size of a home often remains the same. The challenge is no longer just how to store more items, but how the home can continue to provide space for the things that increase along with the occupants' life journey.

To answer these changes, IKEA Indonesia launched the "Make Room: So the Meaningful Always Has a Place" campaign. Stemming from IKEA's understanding of life at home, this campaign invites the public to re-examine how the space they already have can continue to support changes in daily life through arrangements that better suit how each person lives.

"What we often see is people feeling their homes are no longer big enough. In fact, upon closer inspection, what has actually changed is not the size of the home, but how they use the space inside it. The bedroom, for example, is now also often used for various kinds of activities and functions. From there we began looking for solutions that truly suit the way people live their daily lives," said Alfinda Krista Rahardyana, Interior Design Leader of IKEA Indonesia.

Based on these observations, a room synonymous with a place to rest has now also become a place to work, study, store various daily necessities, and enjoy alone time. Therefore, IKEA provides various organizing inspirations and storage solutions that help bedrooms remain comfortable to use, even though their functions continue to evolve.

“What is important is not how big the house is, but how the existing space can adapt to the way its occupants live. Sometimes what is needed is not sacrificing a room to become a storage warehouse or making a new room, but re-evaluating what is truly needed regularly, what can be stored more neatly, and whether there are corners of the house that have not been maximally utilized," continued Alfinda.

"IKEA's vision is to create a better everyday life for the many people. For us, that vision begins with understanding how people truly live their lives at home. Through Make Room, we want to share inspiration that helps the public utilize the space they already have so the home can continue to follow all forms of changes in their lives," said Ririn Basuki, Public Relations Manager of IKEA Indonesia.

This perspective is also felt by Rudy Ferdianrus, Art Director & Videographer as well as a father of two children. From the very beginning, he and his family designed their home so that every room could be utilized as well as possible. As family members increased, the home also continued to adapt itself to follow their needs.

“From the start, we indeed designed the house so that every room could be utilized as optimally as possible. After having children, we didn't feel we had to change everything from scratch. What we did was precisely keep adjusting the house to follow the family's needs. There are wall areas that we utilize for storage, now there is a playroom, and we rearranged several rooms so they remain comfortable to use together. For me, a home is indeed not something that is finished once it is built, but continues to grow following our family's life," expressed Rudy.

Through the "Make Room: So the Meaningful Always Has a Place" campaign, IKEA Indonesia invites the public to look back at how the spaces in their homes are used on a daily basis. With an arrangement that suits the occupants' way of life, the home they already have can continue to support the various activities and changes that present themselves in daily life.
