Tangerang, 20 August 2026 – IKEA Indonesia, in collaboration with musician and songwriter Danilla, presents Ruang Candramawa, a roomset inspired by Danilla’s daily life and creative process. Drawing inspiration from Danilla’s latest album, Candramawa, the space is designed to showcase how a single room can adapt to the diverse activities of its occupant. Ruang Candramawa was launched on Thursday, 20 August 2026 at IKEA Alam Sutera, and can also be found at IKEA Kota Baru Parahyangan and IKEA Ciputra World Surabaya.

Rather than creating a replica of Danilla’s home or studio, IKEA took a closer look at how Danilla navigated the creative process behind Candramawa. Throughout the process, Danilla was not always sitting in front of musical instruments or working monotonously. There was time spent listening to her peers create, conversing, brainstorming ideas, or simply pausing for a moment. These observations were then incorporated as a foundational basis for the design of Ruang Candramawa.

“From the beginning, we did not want to make a replica of Danilla’s room or studio. We wanted to understand how she and her peers experienced the music-making process. From there, we saw that the journey did not always progress linearly or monotonously. There was a lot of interaction, experimentation, and changes throughout the process, and that is what we translated into Ruang Candramawa,” said Alfinda Krista Rahardyana, Interior Design Leader IKEA Indonesia.

The inspiration for Ruang Candramawa stems from Danilla’s latest album, Candramawa, released on 5 June 2026. Consisting of eight tracks with a duration of 30 minutes, the album carries stories of experience, loss, and how one comes to peace with things that cannot always be changed. For IKEA, understanding the story behind this album became an important part of understanding Danilla’s daily life during the album’s creation, including the habits and moments that shaped her creative work.

In the process of crafting Candramawa, Danilla worked alongside two fellow musicians and music producers, Lafa Pratomo and Otta Tarrega, in intensive collaborative sessions. The three developed songs together with ample room to experiment, listen, and respond to one another.

“The process largely happened through interactions between the three of us. For example, when I tried a vocal section, Lafa and Otta could immediately respond, and likewise when they were trying out guitar or key parts. From there, we could build on each other's ideas and tweak things until they felt right. Maybe that’s also what I love about Ruang Candramawa, because the space doesn’t feel made for just one activity. There is room to work, chat, try something new, or simply sit and see where the process leads,” said Danilla, Musician & Creative Collaborator.

These dynamics then became one of the foundations for IKEA in designing Ruang Candramawa. Instead of making it a dedicated music studio, IKEA shaped a space with areas of differing character, so that activities requiring focus can take place alongside moments for conversation, gathering, or resting.

A monochrome color palette, layered lighting, textured materials, and personal elements then unite these areas into a cohesive space.

“This collaboration is exciting for us because ultimately we did not only draw inspiration from Danilla’s work, but also from the way she navigates her creative process. We want to bring that perspective into spaces that stay close to many people’s everyday lives, so visitors can see new possibilities for the spaces they have,” said Muhammad Taufiqurrakhman, Country Marketing Manager IKEA Indonesia.

Through Ruang Candramawa, IKEA Indonesia and Danilla present an interpretation of the creative process behind the birth of the album Candramawa. Originating from the collaboration Danilla and her peers engaged in during music production, IKEA translated it into a space that has different areas and atmospheres, yet remains unified. This collaboration brings together Danilla’s personal story and creative process with IKEA’s perspective on how space can be part of everyday life.

About Danilla

Danilla became widely recognized through her debut album, Telisik, released in 2014. Since then, she has continued to develop her musical character through Lintasan Waktu (2017) and POP SEBLAY (2022), with an approach not rigidly bound to a single genre and always leaving room for experimentation. POP SEBLAY, for instance, became an album that gave Danilla, Lafa Pratomo, and Otta Tarrega the freedom to explore diverse directions without too many boundaries in the creative process.

In 2026, Danilla returned with her latest full album, Candramawa. Released on 5 June 2026, this album marks a new chapter in her musical journey and contains eight tracks with a duration of 30 minutes. Unlike the more exploratory and playful approach of POP SEBLAY, Candramawa brings a more reflective side. The album speaks of various sides of life, including memories, wounds, fears, loss, and the process of learning to accept things that cannot be changed.

On several occasions, Danilla has also explained that Candramawa relates to a phase of letting go and making peace with various things in life. The album, bearing the epithet "album 3A", almost became her final work after she contemplated stepping away from music, before the support of close friends and listeners made her see reasons to continue creating once again.

About Lafa Pratomo

Lafa Pratomo is a musician, songwriter, arranger, and producer who has been part of Danilla’s creative journey since Telisik. Their collaboration continued through Lintasan Waktu, POP SEBLAY, up to Danilla’s latest works.

Their creative relationship is not merely about production. In the making of POP SEBLAY, for example, Lafa played a role in helping maintain the album’s direction when Danilla and Otta’s ideas expanded into various possibilities. Danilla even referred to Lafa as a kind of "gatekeeper" who helped ensure that the exploration retained the right form.

For Candramawa, Lafa once again served as a co-producer alongside Danilla and Otta Tarrega. In this album’s creative process, his role was again at the intersection of ideas, songwriting, arrangement, and how a musical concept ultimately becomes a complete body of work.

About Otta Tarrega

Otta Tarrega is a musician, songwriter, arranger, and music producer who has long worked alongside Danilla. He was involved in POP SEBLAY and subsequent works, including as part of the team helping shape Danilla’s musical color.

In the creative process with Danilla and Lafa, Otta is known to bring a freer approach to musical exploration. When working on POP SEBLAY, for instance, Otta described their process as working together without overly restricting one another, giving space for each person to try various ideas and possibilities.

For Candramawa, Otta again became a co-producer alongside Danilla and Lafa. The three formed the core of the album's musical process, while several songs also involved other collaborators such as Bilal Indrajaya, hara, and Sandrayati.

About the Album Candramawa

Released on 5 June 2026, Candramawa is Danilla’s latest full-length album containing eight tracks with a duration of around 30 minutes. The album is produced by Danilla, Lafa Pratomo, and Otta Tarrega, with vocal collaborations from Bilal Indrajaya, hara, and Sandrayati.

This album brings themes covering various facets of human life; light and dark, happiness and wounds, loss, fear, to the process of accepting and making peace with the past. The production process of the Candramawa album took place between 2024–2025, with part of the production conducted in Bantul, Yogyakarta. Danilla explained that the decision to work in Bantul was partly related to the need for a quieter environment and a cost of living that allowed the team to bring the people they needed during the creative process.

Interestingly, space and the way of listening also became part of the story of this album. Prior to digital release, Danilla invited a portion of her listeners to listen to Candramawa in a calmer setting, without distractions. The eight tracks in Candramawa are: Pertunjukan Terakhir · Prasangka (feat. Bilal Indrajaya) · Kata Siapa · Anaking · Cinta Pertama · Lembar Biru · Dasawarsa · Setitik (feat. hara & Sandrayati).

One of the singles that was part of the journey leading to the album is “Pertunjukan Terakhir”, a song about loss written together with Otta and Lafa. This song takes a different perspective on death: not merely about the grief of those left behind, but about someone who has passed away and how their life story ultimately reached its closing chapter.
